About Adithya

Adithya Vaidhyan was born in Pittsburgh, PA and raised in Wake Forest, NC. His parents Thomas Vaidhyan and Sunita Menon are from India and moved to the US in the late 90s, eventually starting their own educational gaming business in the early 2000's. Through his parents, Adithya was introduced to a variety of musical traditions outside of jazz including rock, Indian classical music, and Western Classical music. 

Adithya was lucky enough to have amazing mentors at a young age most important of whom was Ms. Renee Todd, his band director at Ligon Middle School. Ms. Todd introduced Adithya to the jazz tradition which inspired him to earnestly listen to, practice, and perform the music that fuels his soul to this day. Outside of school, Adithya's musicality and technical facility was nurtured by his saxophone teacher, Erik Riggs, an amazing woodwind instructor and band director in the Triangle.
