About Adithya

Adithya Vaidhyan was born in Pittsburgh, PA and raised in Wake Forest, NC. His parents Thomas and Sunita Vaidhyan are from India and moved to the US in the late 90s, eventually starting their own educational gaming business in the early 2000's. Through his parents, Adithya was introduced to a variety of musical traditions outside of jazz including rock, Indian classical music, and Western Classical music. 

Adithya was lucky enough to have amazing mentors at a young age most important of whom was Ms. Renee Todd, the band director at Ligon Middle School. Ms. Todd introduced the jazz tradition to Adithya and inspired him to earnestly practice and perform the music that fuels his soul to this day. Outside of school, Adithya's musicality and technical facility was nurtured by his saxophone teacher, Erik Riggs, an amazing woodwind instructor and band director in the Triangle.
